A riddle

Hello peeps and welcome back to my blog. This week I  am going to be doing a riddle.

I am lighter than a feather but you cant hold me for long.
I can smell bad or not at all.
I am sometimes loud but sometimes silent.
I have a short life not flying too far.

Try and guess the riddle in as short time as possible.
