My Grandad's first time playing Monopoly with me
After I got out of the car I strolled my way to my grandparents front porch with them both there to greet me and my siblings. We were going to be staying the night at their house and since I was only 8 I had no idea what I was going to do.
As I was moping with nothing to do I came across a very creaky cupboard in my uncle's room and I decided to have a little peak inside to see if there was anything interesting to do. Sitting right there at the very top corner was the beloved game Monopoly.
I was quite happy with my luxurious find and I ran to grandad and asked him if we could play together. After we had set up our game (which took some time) our game finally got underway. I rolled first and rolled an 11 and bought Pall Mall. Back then I wasn't very wise and my strategy was just to buy everything I landed on and hope the money starts rolling in. My Grandad was playing a very different kind of game to me he was only buying the good properties like Leciester Square and saving lots of money. After about 2 hours the game started going to plan for me and grandad started paying up and before you knew it my grandad went broke by landing on my Northumberland Avenue hotel and having to pay £750.
After that my Grandad and I shook hands and said "good game" to each other. Now whenever I'm at a sleepover at my grandparents I never forget to get the monopoly out and start playing.
